Âme A solo-built travel platform, from brand to code to content. 1,200+ articles, two languages, one vision. Bohème

More than a travel blog
Âme Bohème is a bilingual travel platform I built from the ground up: brand, design, codebase, editorial voice, and growth strategy. What started as a personal blog in 2016 has become a content ecosystem reaching thousands of readers monthly across French and English, covering Nordic and Mediterranean destinations. I handle every layer: art direction, UI/UX design, full-stack development, SEO architecture, content writing, video production, and motion design.
From Venice to
a full-stack
platform.
It started with a solo trip to Venice in 2016 and a need to write about it. A few months later, during an internship in Cardiff, I launched the blog on WordPress. Over the years, the ambition grew: articles turned into digital magazines, then YouTube vlogs, TikTok content, photo essays, and interviews with fellow travelers. In 2025, I migrated the entire platform off WordPress and rebuilt it from scratch on a modern headless stack, because I wanted full control over every pixel and every data point.
A complete
rebrand.
In 2025, I redesigned Âme Bohème from the ground up. New logo, new typography, new color system, new UI. The previous version was a WordPress theme with limited control over the visual identity. The rebrand gave the platform a cohesive editorial look that works across web, social, video, and print. Every element was designed with intention: the logo balances elegance and readability, the type system pairs a refined serif for headings with a clean sans-serif for body text, and the color palette shifts between warm and cool tones depending on the destination cluster.

Âme Bohème,
the definition.
Human being, living person; inhabitant. What gives something its originality, what animates it and makes it touch the sensitivity. Seat of someone's psychic activity and states of consciousness. Set of intellectual, moral, affective dispositions that form his individuality, his deep self; mind, intellect, heart, conscience.
Bohemian, derived from the French word "bohemus," refers to individuals who live outside social conventions, embracing a day-to-day existence focused on personal freedom and creative expression. Rejecting mainstream norms, bohemians prioritize experiences over material possessions, gravitating towards artistic pursuits and alternative lifestyles. They find inspiration in the unconventional, forming communities of like-minded individuals to support their artistic endeavors. Despite challenges, the bohemian spirit persists in contemporary society, encouraging individuals to break free from societal constraints and live authentically.

A content
ecosystem,
not a blog.
Âme Bohème publishes long-form destination guides, practical travel advice, photo essays, and cultural deep dives. The French catalog holds over 1,200 articles, with a growing English section of 100+ articles targeting international audiences. Every piece follows strict editorial standards: sensory first-person writing, honest practical information, no empty superlatives, no filler. The content covers two main clusters: Nordic destinations (Norway, Iceland, Sweden) and the Mediterranean (Greece, Italy), each with interconnected pillar pages, supporting articles, and structured data to maximize both search visibility and AI citation.

Custom-built,
end to end.
I migrated from WordPress to a fully custom headless architecture that I designed and developed myself:
Every architectural decision was made by me. No templates, no themes, no page builders.
Full control. No templates, no themes, no page builders.
The growth strategy is built on three pillars. First, search engine optimization: every article is structured for featured snippets, with FAQ schemas, summary tables, and concrete data points that search engines can extract. Second, generative engine optimization (GEO): the content is architected so AI models cite Âme Bohème as a source, with consistent pricing data, structured facts, and schema markup that LLMs can parse. Third, monetization: the platform generates revenue through strategic affiliate partnerships (car rental, travel insurance, eSIM, bike rental) integrated naturally into editorial content.
I also built an automated content refresh pipeline using Python and AI tooling that systematically updates all 1,200+ articles with current pricing, opening hours, and verified facts, ensuring the entire catalog stays accurate and competitive.
SEO, GEO,
and
monetization.

Every visual,
my hand.
The brand identity, logo, typography system, color palette, UI components, and page layouts: all designed by me. The visual direction follows the brand ethos: refined but approachable, editorial but personal. On the content side, I produce all hero images and visual assets, direct photo and video shoots during my travels, and maintain a consistent visual language across the platform, social channels, and publications. The design system ensures that whether someone lands on a Norwegian fjord guide or a Greek island itinerary, the experience feels unmistakably Âme Bohème.
Writing, filming, publishing.
Beyond the written articles, the ecosystem extends into video (YouTube vlogs and TikTok), photography portfolios, newsletter campaigns, and two self-published e-books. I've also developed partnerships with tourism brands and hotels, producing sponsored content that maintains the same editorial integrity as organic pieces. Every format, from a 5,000-word destination guide to a 60-second vertical video, follows the same principle: honest, useful, and visually considered.
Vertical
reels.
Short-form content I produced for Âme Bohème's Instagram and TikTok feeds. Destination guides, hidden spots, and natural phenomena cut for the vertical-first format.
